About this Port
The capital of Malta was built in the 16th century by knights of the order of Saint John in the northeastern part of the island.
Fortresses such as the Fort St. Elmo, the Grandmaster's Palace and the St. John's Co-Cathedral with its ornate interior reflect the origins of the city.
The port of Valletta is regarded as one of the largest natural ports in the Mediterranean and offers a panoramic view over the historic buildings.
